Is There Any Doctor Available To Analyse This Report?
My husband is 68 yrs. of age and had his testis removed over a year ago and at the time his PSA level was 91. Now, his PSA score has risen during the last 9 months to 4.5. He is scheduled for a bone scan and a MRI this week. Does this mean that the cancer is growing someplace else? Thanks for your help. Barbara YYYY@YYYY
It is very difficult to say if cancer is spreading in the absence of clinical signs of spread to other organs. This is the reason MRI and bone scan are to be done. A bone scan is very sensitive and almost always picks up a spread to the spine as that is commonly seen in patients such as your husband. If he is having severe back pain he must discuss it with his doctor.
