Should I Be Worried About The Bleeding During Pregnancy?

4weeks 4-5days & bleeding
I'm 5'3", 172 lbs, i'm 4-5 weeks pregnant and had started spotting. my dr. took blood yesterday to see the quants because I've already had one miscarriage 3 months ago. She said it's 50/50 right now for being implanting or another miscarriage. I was wondering how heavy I can bleed before I just shouldn't get my hopes up in this one surviving.

Hello and welcome,

I understand your concern very well.

As of now, it is difficult to say how much bleeding is needed before we can say that it is not viable. However if there is a fleshy mass that is passed along with blood then most likely the baby is aborting and will not sustain.

As of now the best thing that you can do is not to worry as already bleeding is there and worry will not help decreasing it. Take bed rest, ask your doctor for HCG injections and progesterone supplements to help sustain the pregnancy.

If you have had an earlier abortion it is best if you could get a TORCH, blood sugar, VDRL, thyroid, APL and ANA tests done after discussing with your doctor. They test various conditions associated with repeated abortions and diagnosing them may help in treatment now as well as in future.

All my good wishes are with you. Take care.

Hope this was helpful.
