Should I Be Worried About The Swelling In Leg After Touching Poison Ivy?

Hi, I did some yard work last Saturday and I must have gotten in touch with poison ivy. Especially on my left leg, the rashes were really bad and fluid was oozing out all the time. Thursday night I realized that my left foot got really swollen. So I decided to go to the doctor. She gave me a stereoid and an antibiotic. The oozing stopped now which is great. However, the foot is still very swollen and it hurt like crazy when I first got out of bed this morning, almost like a cramp. It took me a while before I could walk normally. Now the foot is still very swollen, and I have a slight tingly feeling in my toes. I didn't think much of it, but my girlfriend is really worried and thinks that this could be very serious. The doctor told me that if my toes/foot change color, then I definitely need to go to the ER. The color is still normal, but the tingly feeling worries me a little. Should I go to the ER? Or is it pretty normal after a bad poison ivy case and I just have to wait it out? I also read on the internet that you should take Benadryl in a case like this, what do you think?
