Shoulder Pain Radiating To Arm, Twitching Of Lips. Could This Be A Pinched Nerve?

I answer the phone all day and recently started developing shoulder pain, that alternates from right to left depending on the flare up. Most recently that pain has begun to spread down the back of my shoulder blades and radiates to my arm . Today, this pain also made my lip twitch and I can barely lift my arms, should I be concerned that this is more than a possible pinched nerve?

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. The symptoms that you are experiencing can be due to stress, anxiety, etc. It can also be due to some type of peripheral neuropathy that you might be suffering from. Hope you are not diabetic, hypertensive or have history of any past illness. If yes, get a medical check up done without loss of time to confirm normal blood reports and other investigations.

Such problem can arise due to some degeneration or disc problem in your neck region/ neck spine. It is better to rule out spondylitis. Get clinically assessed, you may need shoulder and neck exercises, a physiotherapist can help you.

Do take care of the type of pillow you use, change your pillow and mattress, use the ones in which you are more comfortable. Pain relieving sprays and oitments can be of help. You can take pain killers for temporary relief.

Nerve compression and nerve weakness should be dealt without loss of time. Your treatment will depend on the type and severity of the problem detected. Take care.
