Suggest Alternative Medication For Chronic Pain In The Neck, Shoulders And Lower Back

a little history: broken left hip, neck fusion 4-5-6-7, lumbar fusion, left and right shoulder rotator, broken right ankle, right big toe, high blood pressure, depression, mild stroke, internal shingles, bleeding ulcers etc. I have chronic pain in neck/shoulders and lower back. I use Advil to relieve pain but start to pass blood. Due to the recent concerns the Dr will no longer prescribe Norco. been the route for nerve blocks until the insurance will no longer cover the procedures. What are my options for pan relief or am I forced to live with the pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Some of the painkillers that you can provide over the counter are:
- Anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.
- Acetaminophen (Tylenol).
- Antidepressants, which can improve sleep and alleviate pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
