Suggest Alternative To Hearing Aid For Hearing Problems

my 11 yr daughter has hearing problems, mostly when she had a bad cold, it was blamed on her wax, but that is not the case, she has an appt on the 7 Feb, after having yearly appts and a test was done on her on the 23rd Nov last. What do suggest I tell the hospital now, as they were suggesting a hearing aid, which we are not keen on at all at this age. please help
