Suggest Medication For Constipation

Hi, my 9 year old has only twice had this problem, but she has constipation and although I know that blood can occur when trying to push it out becasue of hemroids, I am concerned. Its bright and is around the stool, not in the stool and this has only occured a few times her whole life and the stool was massive! Do I visit a doctor or tell her to start eating more cereal? Or might she have a bigger problem. She does not complain about abdominal pain, though she does get bladder infections from time to time, which is inherited by me and my mother, we both have had kidney problems
