Suggest Remedies For Severe Shooting Pain In The Jaw

I woke up this morning, and I have a sharp, severe pain that radiates down the right side of my face. I can open my mouth the entire way, but I cannot completely close it. It hurts an incredible amount. If im not moving my mouth it doesnt hurt as well. I'm worried it might be tetanus, but I dont recall hurting my self anytime recently. Should I go to the ER, or what Would you recommend?
