Brief answer:
PREMENSTRUAL SYNDROME..
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can very well understand your health concern..
As per your complain the symptoms you explained are of Premenstrual syndrome, as just before and during periods the
Progesterone level falls and as a less known property of Progesterone is to maintain the muscles and as the
Progestrone falls there is back fall of tongue during sleeping and the suction is created in throat which leads to sucking up of some amount of acids from stomach to throat during sleep..
This leads to soreness and irritation of throat which causes more mucous production and needs more clearing as well as irritation stimulates coughing..
As the Progesterone level rises the symptoms subsides themselves..
-What you can do is avoid spicy and acidic food before and during
menstruation as well as take
antacid like Diagene or
Gelusil half an hour before meals to keep the acidity low.
-You can take
Nexium capsule twice daily..
-Take small meal at night and finish eating before atleast 2 to 3 hours before sleeping..
-Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration as well as it dilutes the acid..
-Warm saline gargles can also help..
Hope this information helps and thanks for writing to Healthcare Magic..
