Suggest Remedy For Dizzy Spells

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I have been getting dizzy spells and have been off balance and have felt weaker and more tired lately. I went to the doctot over a week ago, got a blood test, turns out I had a vitamin D level of 17. I have been on 50,000UI of vitamin d a week for 2 weeks now. I haven't had a real bad dizzy fit since last friday (the 8th) But I do constantly get head rushes almost every day from walking around, turning, or looking up or down. How long should I give the vitamin D before I go back to the doctor? I've been taking it for 2 weeks now. I'm also in a "just woke up from a deep sleep" quite a bit. If it is just a vitamin D difficiency, how long should it take before these dizzy spells stop?

Good evening,
I must say that I am concerned about your symptoms and do not feel that they are coming from a vitamin D deficiency. In fact, you do not even meet the criteria for deficiency. A vitamin D below 12 is considered deficient so you are just slightly below normal. Repletion should not take long. And, you should not be having these symptoms from this. I guess I would be looking at other factors such as eye health, blood pressure fluctuations, side-effects from meds or other imbalances in your blood. You might wish to get a second opinion, now. You are a fall risk and that concerns me. Do you live alone? For your safety during these dizzy spells you might want to think of an alert system like many wear around their neck - especially if you live alone. Have you had your heart checked lately?Has your doctor checked your ears? Just some additional things to think about. In hopes of a speedy recovery!
