Suggest Remedy For Numbness In The Shin

Hi....I am having continued numbness in my left shin. It is not constant, but comes on a significant number of times in a day and has been occurring for several days now. I am not a runner and was hospitalized for a TIA back in August. Any thoughts or ideas?
