Suggest Remedy For Thin Sensitive Skin

I have thin, sensitive skin. I'm East Asian, 5ft, and 120 lbs. Since childhood, i've had ezcema which has disappeared now. For acne, i've tried Retin-A, proactive and a few others which just made me swell up and get a rash on my face which i suspect is a reaction to the benzoyl peroxide in the medications. My current dermatologist says my sensitive skin is a result from all the steroids put into my body from the medication for the ezcema, although the medication never went on my face. Now she asks me to take a very expensive laser treatment to stimulate my skin cells into rebuilding the collagen in my face. I'm not sure if I should go through with the treatment, if it's necessary, or if there's some other less expensive but equally effective way to treat my skin.
