Suggest Treatment For Fainting Spells

I am an 18 year old female and I have been suffering from fainting spells for about six years. I would always pass out and wake up before an ambulance was there. I was always with someone like my parents or relatives. I would always wake up a couple minutes later. I was really out cold each time. I peed my pants two times out of the five or six times that it happened. Last time it happened was about a month ago, but this time I was actually in an ambulance- i called one cuz i was really sick and puking- and they had a heart monitor on me. They said that my heart slowed down- i heard that part- and then it stopped, at which point I was unconscious. They said it stopped for six seconds. The ambulance guy did something to revive me- i think chest compressions. My question is, assuming that my heart stopped every other time, how did I always wake up on my own? Why didn't I die?
