Suggest Treatment For Foul Smelling Breath And Throat Pain

About a month and a half ago, I noticed that my breath was just awful, very metallic taste. First two weeks were horrible. After that, my throat started to hurt and I noticed that I had a kernel sized puss spot on the left side of where my tonsil used to be. Now, I have been spitting up really thick, sometimes dark beige to black in color, sticky substance when coughing. Becoming hoarse more and more and burning when swallowing. Help!!!!! I've had my tonsils removed at the age of 19, now 41. I am a smoker; however, I can't hardly smoke because of the pain and burning.
