Suggest Treatment For Headache Caused By Banging

Hi, 3 weeks ago I banged my head on a wall as I fell, a little lump appeared almost immediately and I felt OK. Didn't feel faint or sick. About a week later I have been experiencing headaches- initially, shooting pains ( head would hurt when I walked )however today is the first day since that I have had no headaches and the last few days they have been milder. A few minutes ago however I felt faint and had a throbbing in my head, this may be to do with the fact that I'm suffering from tiredness and had just got out of a hot bath. I have been eating well and have experienced no nausea. I've visited my GP who gave me a letter allowing me to attend causualty if I felt the need, however he didn't seem too concerned. Do you think a visit to the hospital is necessary?
