So, my boyfriend has been having severe headaches with throbbing pain mainly at the back of the head, and no nausia. Light doesn't bother him, but when he stands up it hurts worse. We ended up taking him to the ER the other night, the only thing that would relieve the pain was a few shots. They performed a cat scan and said it was nothing more than sinusitis, and gave us a perscription for antibiotics. Isn't a sinus infection mainly at the front of the head? This is a throbbing pain in the back of the head. It seems to show all the symptoms of a coital headache (sexual headache), but he's been having severe pain daily even without anything sexual to start it. In fact, the headache doesn't even go away, it just bounces between severe pain and moderate pain. The doctors have perscribed multiple pills but none of them seem to be doing anything at all.
