Suggest Treatment For Indentation And Swelling On Lips After An Injury

Hello,

I tripped and fell last week. landing face first on my nose and lip.

I went to a & e who put a stitch through the lip (inside) which has healed inside but now the join to the outside is not fully healed, when stretched you can see a bump which looks as though it should heal but when relaxed there is a small indent which is noticable for me. what I want to know is if this will heal and become less visable- understandably the lip is still abit swollen. I just need to find out if there is anything i can do to aid the recovery-creams etc, and if there is anything I should do perhaps stitch on it to encourage it to heal properly

secondly at the time I went to a&e my nose was very swollen so they did nothing, I had an appointment yesterday (9 days after accident) at the ent clinic. they advised that the nose is broken, and is bent slightly- not hugely noticeable but I can see it. I am a fallows tretalogy patient (age 25 now) had op when I was 3 and ok at the moment, advised will need surgery again in the next 10 years. So they wont straighten the nose using general aneasthetic, and advised to go away and consult them again if I want a rhinoplasty- now to me this seems much more risky for something that could be done now, perhaps with no pain relief. Is there anything I can do now to get this resolved?

I have scars already and having even this what seem minor injuries to other people has a real chance of really knocking my confidence badly and I just want to limit this. so would appreciate any feedback now. When I spoke to my local gp over the phone they just advised there is nothing that can be done and I dont think they appreciate psychological aspects of this, or that it is a fairly new injury so fixing it now would be the best option I believe.

Thanks
