Hi Doctor,
My mother just underwent FNAC test for lumps in her left breast. The initial mamogram report was :
findings are suggestive of intraductal left retroareolar mass - papilloma
tiny complex cyst in the left breast-virads- III
bilateral duct ectasia - III
Lumps of size :
34*14 mm
5*4 mm it is seen 2oclock position in left breast.
The FNAC report highlights :
Fine needle aspiration smears from central breast mass are highly cellular and show heammorages bckgrnd. there are many clusters and sheets of polygonal cells and some of them scattered singly. They contain scant to moderate amt of pale acidophillic vacuolated cytoplasm and large round to oval nucleas. there is moderate nuclear pleomorphism, course cromatin clumping and prominent neclueolus.
There are focal masses of necrosis and degenerated cellular elements.
Impression : features are suggestive of carcinoma breast.
I am working away from home and travelling back to her tommorrow morning. I Just want to have some clarity on the report and the suggested diagnosis. Any information, which will help me to consult an oncologist with better understanding and knowledge.
Will be grateful for any information.
Thanks,
Ram
