Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Bartholine Absess

I am a healthy 49 year old woman, I was diagnosed with a Bartholine absess on Monday 9-17-12 by my doctor. He prescribed me pain meds and Surgery to remove entire gland was scheduled for the following Tuesday, 9-25-12. That was the earliest available appointment. I have never had any cysts or problems of this nature before. For the past 6 days the absess grew larger and more painful. It grew to about the size of a large oval plum. I have not been able to walk since Wednesday. It is excruciating. I woke up this morning and my labia was swollen to approx 1/2 inch thick. Again, severe and excruciating pain. Now my labia is bleeding. I thought the cyst had ruptured, but there is no pus, although the swelling has gone down some. Can you advise?
