Suggest Treatment For Pain In Shoulders And Knees When On Leukemia Treatment

My wife is being treated for leukemia that was preceded by myelodysplasia. She is at home at this time, waiting for a bone marrow donor. She is experiencing extreme pain in her shoulders, and to a lesser degree, in her knees. She takes Vicodin and Ibuprofen to relieve the pain, but the results are minimal, and she is in a constant state of pain. Other than the use of a heating pad, can you suggest any treatment that might help, even a little? It is so hard to watch her suffer.
