Suggest Treatment For Pain While Walking And Bending Knee
Hello, I recently fell off the last step at my home and went down hard on the wooden floor. I know I broke my fifth metatarsal in my right foot and am in a boot for that. I also hit the outside of my left leg just below my knee. There is no brusing but there is a knot on the side where it normally juts out and it is very painful to walk, when I bend my knee and when I flex my foot. Any idea what I might have done to it? Thank you, Bobbie YYYY@YYYY
Your symptom is indicative of either a hematoma after a fall or a blood clot due to injury. You can apply Thrombophob ointment to reduce the blood clot on the affected area. You should keep your leg elevated, apply cold compress if it is a hematoma. Take acetaminophen, one SOS for relief. However, you are suggested to get clinically assessed by a GP, you may need intravenous injections or surgery. Get all the required tests done, get treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
