Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have a little red bump bottom of my breast. I ve had it since last October 2015. I popped it 3 or 4 times to get pus out. Just know there was a little more than normal. Should I be concerned? I am also 9 weeks pregnant. My next appointment is April 12 which is a physical. Should I tell them then.
I can understand your concern. The swelling that you think is pus filled abscess and will heal if you will drain the pus might actually be a sebaceous cyst which is very common in the area. When the cyst ruptures, its lining is left inside and it keeps recurring. To stop its recurrence, you might have to get it surgically removed.
I would advise you not to rupture it yourself this time and let it be where it is. Let the gynecologist examine it and discuss options with you for its removal according to your stage of pregnancy. Keep the area clean and sterile so that there is no infection in the area.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
