I have been having issues for the last couple of months with a sinus infection that causes my ears to clog. The first medicine Levaquin did not completely get rid of the clogged ears and the sinus infection. The Augmentin given next had a better result but it never went away completely. I have a low grade fever when it returns and my eyes burn. I don't think it's related, but I also sometimes have to go to the bathroom and cannot wait. It does not feel like a typical bladder infection. No pressure, no itching, no pain. I'm getting very frustrated. I have been on Xyzal for several years and I take Nasonex at night. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
It looks like sinus infection is the cause of post nasal drip that in-turn can block Eustachian tubes causing clogging.. Fever and eye burning can be related to sinus infection only..
So first of all get an Ear examination done to rule out the exact cause of the clogging and also get a sinus x ray done..
You can start using decongestant nasal sprays like Xylometazoline and Oxymetazoline and along with it do saline nasal irrigation and steam inhalation..
If antibiotics cannot relieve the sinus issues completely then endoscopic sinus surgery can help..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
