Taking Omeprazole And Kaimosin For Ankle Sprain. Why Am I Prescribed With Omeprazole?
Hi, I had a ankle sprain , doctor that i consulted with gave the below prescription and asked me to tie the grip-band in the injured area and not to walk for a week. Tablets/Capsues prescribed: 1. Omeprazole 20mg 2. Kaimosin-D When i search the use of Omeprazole capsule in intenet, i shocked as it is used for digestive disorders . Can i take the prescribed medicines?. Thanks in advance for you help. Thanks & Regards, Srini
hi there, the omeprazole has been prescribed for prophylactic treatment for gastritis as all the pain killers that you take tend to damage your gastric lining and it is good practice to take an antacid with the painkillers. Assuming that you are taking them he might have prescribed it to you. There is no harm in taking them. Kaimosin is a medicine which helps to dissolve small fibrin clots which may be formed at the site of injury and hinders fast healing. The treatment prescribed to you is a sound one and do continue with it to get benifit. Take care.
