What Are The Side Effects Of Metformin?

I am a 50 y/o female, fairly active, 5 9 and weigh 145 lbs. I have been diabetic for several years and I am on 1000 mg of metformin twice daily. My A1C was 6.1 last month. I have several problems and don t know if they are related to the metformin. I am extremely cold, almost all of the time. I have an increase in the amount of perspiration from my underarms, feet, etc., that is unusually pungent. I can t describe it except to say that it just smells really bad to me and I bathe twice daily. Could it be the metformin?
