Welcome to Health care magic.
1.Steps followed to detect and diagnose and treatment are as follow.
2.As soon as any abnormality noted in the breast like pain, lump, erosive, tenderness - an
ultrasound examination of the breast is indicated.
3.The ultrasound will help to evaluate the nature of the lump its source and extensions. After that if the female is post reproductive age - an
mammogram will be done to correlate with the ultrasound findings. ( as tiny calcific malignancies are not seen on ultrasound ) Recently MR Breast also been used in investigation process.
4.Once abnormality detected - an FNAC /
BIOPSY will be done - depending on the nature of the cells and lesion extension the procedure depends upon.
5.Partial / lump excision to complete
mastectomy ( définitive diagnosis for treatment is FNAC / BIOPSY) Good luck.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
