Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can I Do To Heal Persistent Slight Pain In The Knuckles Post Injury?
I am worried I may have fractured my knuckle. When I first injured myself there was little to no swelling, and no visible bruising, so naturally I thought nothing of it, and proceeded to treat it the same as I would any minor injury. It has been three weeks with little change in the level of pain. Since it has been so long, is there anything I can do to heal normally?
I recommend consulting with an orthopedic surgeon for a physical exam and performing a hand X-ray study, coupled with inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR).
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
