What Can Cause Anxiety And Breathing Difficulty After Withdrawing From Citalopram?

I seem to be having anxiety attacks with labored breathing at night. Only regimen change is recent elimination of 10 mg citalopram that I had been taking for years. Took it for job related stresses and high temperament that no longer exists as I retired 1 month ago. I phased out drug over 4-5 weeks with my doctor’s blessing

You may be suffering from antidepressant withdrawal symptoms.

You may be suffering from panic attacks.

It may be due to hypertension or anemia or beriberi or cardiac ischemia etc.

Do regular exercise, avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.
