Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

I appreciate your health concern about your husband. Possible causes of blood in the stool may be haemorrhoids or fissure in the anus.

How old is he? In old age people, malignancy is one of the reasons for painless bleeding.

Polyps or ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease also the other causes.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. please consult your surgeon he will examine through proctoscope and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
