What Causes Acid Reflux?

I am a 75 year old female and experience terrible heartburn. I take tums and that helps. It seems that it happens every day and today I had blooting all day beside. I take lisinopril only 5mg, calcium,hair skin and nails and preservision, that is it. Fairly healty 5.5 foot tall and weigh 160.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.
Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week.
Head end elevation during sleep.
Take small amount of meals with increased frequency.
If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroentrologist he will examine and do endoscopy and treat you accordingly.
