What Causes Black Hair To Turn Brown?

Hi, I am a 28 year old female and have started to notice gray hairs in the last year. I am Asian, and used to have quite black hair, but there are now shades of brown. I am not too worried about the graying, as it seems to run in the family, but the loss of pigmentation is worrying me. Should I be concerned? Many thanks.
