What Causes Black Spot Near Vagina With Mild Irritation?

Hi, I am a 43 year old woman. I went for my pap smear and my doctor said there was an abnormality. I went back for a second visit and he checked for stuff. He said it looks like I have a small viral infection in my vagina. A few days later, I was looking at my clitorus and noticed a black spot. Also, on one side, there was some darkening of the skin. There is no pain, although when it rubs against my jeans it feels dry and somewhat irritated. I have another appointment with my OBGYN in 6 months. I was wondering what the black spot can be.
