What Causes Dark Spots On The Stomach?

In the past 3 days, 3 new dark freckles (or moles, I guess) have shown up on my stomach. It's winter now, so I'm not in the sun, and my stomach rarely saw the sun this summer. I'm 20 years old, female. Is this something I should be worried about? The spots are about the size of a pen mark and dark brown.
