What Causes Delayed Period?

Hi, this is my first time using this website, but I just took the pill for the first time today, and stupidly enough I only just realised I have not got my period yet. I am 15 if that helps, and it is my first time ever ingesting the pill. I am a bit worried, and too afraid to tell my mum.
