What Causes Dry Cough And Throat Ache?
I have a dry cough that comes on violently ... the cough is deeper in my throat and it hurts... I do not have a running nose ... it feels that mucus is in my throat when I swallow... what is it a flu? Right now I am drinking water and have put vicks vaper rub and it seem to help suppress the cough.

Probably be a bacterial infection. As of now consult a general practitioner and start a short course of antibiotics preferably Amoxclav. Do warm saline gargles and take antihistamines like Cetrezine for symptomatic relief. Generally the symptoms will settle in couple of days without much complications.
