I have been diagnosed with CREST Scleroderma, Sjogren's syndrome, Erosive Lichen Planus, variant of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and Raynaud's disease. I also have Essential Thrombocytosis, Polycythaemia Rubra Vera and Anaemia. I have raised ANA and ENA and the Jak2 mutation. ANCA is negative, as is Plasma Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme. I have recently started experiencing episodes of angioedema - with swelling of throat accompanied by wheeze/stridor and inability to speak. These episodes occur without any trigger that I can identify and can last for a few hours - unrelieved with antihistamines or salbutamol. I recently attended the Emergency Department of a hospital (major teaching) in South Australia, and was discharged without any ongoing treatment, and without a diagnosis or a cause. I was told that because this type of angioedema is so rare, it is unlikely that this is what was the cause. I am a 43yo Female and ask your valued opinion.
