Hi,

Can you mention the approximate frequency and the exact symptoms during the episodes- only nasal stuffiness and discharge, or associated with fever and cough also? Any family history of allergic diseases?

If only colds with no fever or cough, we need not worry much. Just avoid dust and cold exposure. Use saline nasal drops when needed.

If there is fever or cough also, depending on frequency and severity of episodes, we might need investigations to rule out immunodeficiency or allergic conditions like asthma.

Some kids may be sensitive to some food items, causing allergic cough and abdominal symptoms. This we can not generalise. Try discontinuing suspected items for few weeks to see for any improvement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
