What Causes Frequent Urination?

Hi my name is Annette I m 50 years old, I have had frequent urination at night up 3 to 5 times a night recently went to more frequent during the day. I had a renal ultra sound that showed one kidney slightly enlarged and bladder also. The Urologist I saw didn t seem to think they were bad. My urine also sometime shows trace amount of blood he also thought it wasn t bad. In my renal ultrasound showed no mass. I also had a vaginal ultra sound that the doctor said everything looked fine. My blood work also showed rbc4.08 hct36.2 platel count 486 mpv7.3 neutrophil rel 74.1 lymphocyte rel 18.9 eosinophil rel 0.2 basophils rel 0.3 neutrophil abs 6.7 glucose 103 agap 6.00 a/g ratio 1.0 These were levels that were hi or low on my blood work. Doctor also thought there wasn t a concern for these levels. I have lower back pain and pelvic pain and back back pain up high in my back but not constant they are waiting for a ct scan authorization to have that done. I had sexual intercorse yesterday and now I have vaginal bleeding just confused not getting much info from my doctor as to what this could mean. Do you have any insight? Thank you in advanvance

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It sounds to be a vaginal infection or epithelial changes in terms of hyperplasia or else so far as the bleeding vagina is concerned.

A frequency of urination at night (once diabetes is ruled out), requires CT abdomen pelvis with contrast study with or without uroflowmetry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
