There are a lot of things so here it goes. I started having high blood pressure at 16, went on Lisinopril, got it down for 8-9 months, then it went back up higher than before. On New Year's Day it was 218/124. Other symptoms include tremor, heavy and irregular periods, extreme fatigue, headache, short of breath, and trouble sleeping.
So far it's been confirmed I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, but that's not enough to cause all this. I also have double the normal level of dopamine and low potassium. My testosterone is slightly elivated, my blood sugar is normal, cholesterol is normal. Renin and aldosterone are normal. Head CT and Abnominal CT came back normal, as did an EKG, renal and pelvic ultrasound, and chest Xray. There's been other bloodwork too, but I don't know what.
My first doctor blew me off because of my weight (I'm 5'9", 250 lbs). I did the whole diet/exercise thing for 4.5 months and gained weight. Finally, when my blood pressure went back up we switched to a new doctor, who sent me to an endocrinologist within a month and a half. I've only been there once, and am currently getting dibenzyline out of my system before I can have more tests done.
I'm a college student who is just trying to figure out what this is and get healthy. I've been dealing with this for 4 years and don't know how much longer I can go without knowing what it is. Any ideas?
