Hi,
I am 20 years old and have irregular periods of around 32- 35 days but sometime my cycle runs up to 45 days. I had my first time sex (unprotected) 2 months earlier and also got periods later as well which were delayed. However all the hpt came back negative. But just to make sure as in rare cases women get periods even in pregnancy I had a lower abdominal ultrasound done and got the report today. I have an appointment with my doctor later in the week. In the mean time I am seeking answers from you ladies. Report is as follows:
Urinary Bladder: urinary bladder is adequately distended with normal outline.
No mass lesion, calculus or diverticulum is noted in the urinary bladder.
urinary bladder wall thickness is normal.
No significant retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy/ascites is seen in lower abdomen.
Uterus: uterus is anteverted with normal in size(7*4.4*3cm)outline and echotexture. Endometrial thickness is 3.7mm. No obvious myometrial/endometrial pathology seen.
Both adnexae: Right ovary is normal in size, outline and echotexture. No focal lesion is seen. Right ovary measures 38mm*24mm*18mm (volume -8.6 cc)
Left ovary is normal in size, outline and echotexture. No focal lesion is seen.
Left ovary measures 34mm*31mm*14mm (volume-7.6cc)
No obvious adnexal pathology is seen.
POD is clear.
As a layman I think that everything is normal and I am not pregnant(right???) . Scan was done on 23rd day of my cycle. I am unable to understand which thing is causing irregular periods may be this endometrial and no obvious myometrial/endometrial pathology seen ??
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
