What Causes Itching And Zits On Chin?

I have recently been scratching my chin alot lately. I don't know if it's been itchy because of the very cold weather making my face dry, or if it's another reason. I have been scratching my chin alot lately, and I have just noticed I have developed 2-3 red zits on my chin from it. I don't get acne bad, but, I sometimes have a few on my face. Please help me... What should I do? I can't have these zits still in the morning. Should I put mosturizer on it, or just leave it alone. By the way, I don't use any acne meds, or topical treatments like proactiv or clean and clear, etc.
