What Causes Itching With White Patches In Vagina?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... Hi, for the past year I have had an itchy sensation on my left vaginal lip, never the right. I have now noticed a white patch where the itching occurs. This does not scape off. I have never had any unusal discharge or the cottage cheese like discharge associated with thrush, no is there any unusual smell. Could this just be thrush? Can I treat with over the counter remedies or do I need to bother my GP?
