I am a 20 year old female. I weigh 140 pounds. In the last 2 months of I have 3 bouts of a horrible itchy rash all over my body, lip swelling and sores on my tongue. Each of these episodes last about 2 weeks. I have gone to the doctor and have been given an antifungal cream for the rash and fluconazole. They thought it was possibly ring worm. None of these treatments has helped. I did find that Benadryl did help with the swollen lip. I am now thinking I might have thyroid issues. My mother as well as grandma and several aunts all suffer from thyroid disease. Do these symptoms seem to follow thyroid issues. Also, what sort of doctor should I seek for help and what tests should I request be run on me to determine if I too have thyroid disease?
