What Causes Leg Cramps While Lying Down After Triple Bypass Surgery?

I am on a long waiting list for a triple bypass and a leaky valve repair (I have been on the list since December 13th.) - with a projected date of May or June of this year.
However, I am supposed to let them know if I have any recurring symptoms or new symptoms.
Lately, when I lie down to sleep, I often get rather painful leg cramps in either of my legs. When the pain awakens me, I slowly make my way to my lounge chair and spend the rest of the night sleeping while sitting up. It seems as though my legs only become cramped when I am lying prone.
When I first noticed the cramps, I spoke to a cardiac co-ordinator who told me that obviously they were painful but that they were not life threatening?
Am I worrying for no reason?
