What Causes Lower Back Pain After Losing Lot Of Weight?
Hi I am 40 yrs old and I recently lost a lot of weight (went from 220-135lbs) and my butt now is completely flat! The problem is that my lower back/spine are in terrible pain because I am actually sitting on my spine/tailbone. Would butt implants help this? I have done tons of exercise to increase the size of my bum but it isn t enough! I have tried physio and nothing helps :(
1. Did you lose the weight voluntarily? If not, there might be an infective cause that may have caused the loss of weight and also the backache. An example would be tuberculosis.
2. If the loss of weight was rapid, maybe the lordosis of the spine that occurs and is habitual when one is overweight may yet needed to be corrected. A simple lumbar belt may help you in this aspect.
Besides, you can try a soft cushion that you feel is soft below your gluteal area and back. If the problem persists, meet a neurologist for a local examination to rule out a spine problem before you move in for implants.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Saumya Mittal
