What Causes Mild Cognitive Decline And Loss Of Focus After Bout Of Vertigo?

Hi my name is Lisa.I live in Ny,my parents in Palm Coast Florida. My mom (just turned 60) had a bout of vertigo 4 years ago and has never been the same. At that time she had a MRI of the brain which was normal.Over the last 4 years she has had mild cognitive decline, no focus, severe headaches, cant read(eye exam results are 20/20 vision)and is well aware of her situation at all times. They thought it was depression and has been on zoloft for a year with no improvement. She recently demanded further testing (another brain MRI,cbc physical exam, carotid artery test, stool test, brainwave test, etc all came back normal. Neurologist said there everything is normal so he is going to treat the symptoms of dimentia. She has no family history and is now on Aricept and Namenda for 3 weeks. Neurologist seemed to dismiss the vertigo incident depression(without trying another drug)and does not seem interested in any further testing.I wanted to know if your facility can provide any further testing or insight, since it seems something is not connecting in her brain since this vertigo. Her main problem is her focus. We would really apreciate a second glance of all her results. My dad is all alone with her and they need answers. Thank you so much for your time.Lisa
