Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Mild Vaginal Spotting While On Nexplanon Implant?
I ve had Nexplanon since January and I had a light period before it got put in. A few days of spotting then nothing for three months. But now I m bleeding very lightly and it s usually when I wipe. It s almost pink then other times its brown almost. This has been going on for 10+ days but there is no pain or soreness, no fatigue nothing. Should I be worried? What s causing the bleeding and how long before it stops.
It is a common complaint of most women on Nexplanon of irregular bleeding, spotting or sometimes excessive bleeding.
Commonly the body adjusts to the hormonal changes after putting Nexplanon & spotting or bleeding stops. But if you feel discomfort you are suggested to see a gynae & get it removed.
You will be given some other birth control device that suits you better.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
