What Causes Muscle Loss After Food Poisoning?

While traveling to India I got food poisoning a few days ago, it cleared up in 2 days but I have noticed significant loss of muscle mass. I work out regularly and easily tell when my body has changed. I understand from not eating for the better part of two days, espicially no protien, my body was catobolic. Which I have expereinced be fore but typically it rebounds. It has been 3 days now and my muscles are not rebounding, I worked out today involving weights and cardio and my body was incredibly weak, I coudn't come close to finishing ether work out. I also remember that during the 36hrs of food poisoning, my body and muscles experiened severe aching. So bad that I couldn't sleep. It hurt to move at all, let alone stand or walk. Is it possible that food poisoning reduced muscle mass and effected the stamina?
