What Causes Numbness In A Finger?

I went to a clinic and had my doctor looked at my right middle finger, it bends and got stuck, and you have to force it to get straight. My doctor said I got a "trigger finger",and gave a a steroid shot.

I felt good for the first couple of hours, but then started to get numb on the middle finger. Is there a problem?
