What Causes Numbness In Foot Along With Tingling Sensation?

I have numbness in my left foot for some time now. It is tingly and now I am having prickly, almost like sharp needles sensations. An X-ray was done in October to see if nerve damage was present bot a podiatrist told me if that were the case a neurologist would be the next step. I do not have a family doctor so have been going to walk in clinics. What do you think I should do? I am afraid I may have peripheral neuropathy. Thank you for your time. I am 70 yrs. old.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have numbness in foot along with tingling sensation . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like abnormal levels of vitamin B12 or other vitamins, potassium, calcium, or sodium , poor blood supply to the affected area , herniated disk in your spine , pressure on your nerves diabetes or transient ischemic attack .
